Fred Rogers and Andre Watts?? I can imagine this must have blown some young minds in the 1980's.? It's great that they didn't have Watts play some simple clasiscal tune, they had him go 100 mph and play Chopin's 'Revolutionary' Etude.
Rebecca and I saw Yundi Li's debut with the Indianapolis symphony.? We scored incredible tickets and were told, while being seated, that we be sitting next to Andre Watts, so don't pester him.? I hadn't made it to him in my listening at that point, so I didn't know who she meant.? Now that I know, I'm so disappointed that he had already chosen another seat before we got there :(.
Another of Franz Liszt's showstoppers.? I first fell in love with La Campanella, but since, have realized that the others are even more over the top (though I'll admit, this one may have a little less musicality to it).? Here we have Hungarian virtuoso, Gyorgy Cziffra.? Trained by one of Liszt's students, he was, undoubtedly, one of the world's best interpreters of Liszt's works.? The piece is the Grand Galop Chromatique,

George Olsen and his band performing their hit "Doin' the Raccoon". My brother, Tim, and I obsessed over a barbershop version of this song a few years back. In fact... the guy in the picture with the two flappers looks suspiciously like Tim(?). A hilarious evocative tune that never fails to amuse me with its surprising rhymes.
Date a girl and start to hurry her, right downtown to some big furrier...
Thanks to one of the books I'm currently reading, G?del Escher Bach: An Eternal Golden Braid. I totally get this joke. Of course, I never tell the truth... Oh, and that previous statement is false ;).
